Meet Dr.
Dr. Prema Gopie is a Sport Medicine Physician experienced in treating a variety of musculoskeletal illnesses. He completed his residency training at McMaster University in Family Medicine and following this pursued a Sport and Exercise Medicine Fellowship at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He also holds a Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine as granted by the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine and is an active member of the national organization.
Dr. Gopie is actively involved in teaching musculoskeletal medicine to residents and physicians in both clinical and classroom settings at UBC, McMaster and The University of Toronto. He is also involved in Uganda Sport Medicine, a longitudinal project introducing Sport and Exercise medicine to Uganda through teaching and clinical pursuits.
Optimizing the non surgical care of upper and lower extremity problems with exercise, medication and ultrasound guided injection is his area of expertise. He has been practicing at the Oakville Shoulder an Upper Limb Clinic since 2018. He has also been the supporting team physician for a variety of professional and varsity teams and programs.
In his spare time, Dr.Gopie enjoys going to the gym, playing basketball, cooking, taking care of his many plants, and spending time with family and friends.
